Meet the Lucid Artists
NICHOLE YANOTA, VENUS DE MILO, ROWAN HANSON
I have learned to "trust the path unknown". I created this space based on trust and passion, and very quickly I
witnessed how it became a vacuum that pulled in new, truly desired experiences, as if by magic. Lucid Arts is not
your typical tattoo studio. The space is bright, happy, and serene. I've created a space that nurtures and inspires us.
The process of tattooing is one of expression and transformation and the studio is here to honor that for each
person who joins us. My studiomates, Rowan and Venus, have been my biggest blessings on this journey.
I hold JOY as my daily intention and notice how that enhances each interaction. I enjoy collaboration more than
isolation. Helping my clients express their ideas and create their company's visual identity has become a passion.
Tattooing is another form of collaboration that I am in love with! My clients have stories and symbols that they want to express in the form of body art, and it brings me such joy to create with them in such a special and intimate way. I create illustration-style drawings, digital designs & tattoos. I am known for my memorable, unique works that are rooted in meaningful symbolism and storytelling. I am most proud of the quality and integrity of my work. I put my heart and soul into every piece I create. My clients feel more like friends by the end of our project.
VENUS DE MILO
Venus De Milo is a newly practicing tattoo artist and multidisciplinary mixed media artist working in mediums ranging from traditional fine arts to film. They find visual inspiration in their refections of self, innerworld meditations,
surrounding desert landscapes, and their experiences moving through the world as a non-binary creative. Much of
their work reflects organic repeating patterns and subtle juxtaposition, creating dynamic images using minimal
elements. Venus strives to collaborate in a way that honors their client’s story, physical and emotional boundaries, and allows them to leave feeling seen and celebrated. “My connection to Lucid Arts symbolizes my full circle relationship to the desert, in a way”, De Milo shares. “Leaving to the city for school, I lost my connection to the desert and never saw a future returning; But the opportunity to create and collaborate at Lucid Arts is what brought me back here. The support I have been blessed with at Lucid Arts has nurtured my personal and artistic growth and mended my relationship with the spirited Sonoran Desert. Lucid Arts is more than brick and mortar, it’s a living entity that authentically represents principles of community, emotional honesty, respect and spirituality. I could not be more honored to work alongside Rowan and Nichole and I am eager to see what our future as a trio holds.”
Rowan Hanson is an illustrative tattooist who's inspiration is derived from the natural world using abstract, surreal and magical elements. Mostly working with black ink, she focuses on small details creating illustrative pieces comprised of dot work and fine lines. Her unique designs are centered around flow and fit with the individual's body, as if the tattoo was there all along, waiting to emerge from the skin. Pulling from dreamscapes and intuitive design,
Rowan's work achieves an alchemical balance of beauty that lies between life and decay.
"I moved to Arizona in 2014 from the coast of Massachusetts. Although I spent most of my young life by the ocean, my heart always had a pull to the desert of endless canyons and red rocks. Nothing makes my heart sing like following sandy washes, collecting sun bleached animal bones, and admiring the persistent wildflowers that bloom through adversity. At Lucid Arts, Nichole has created a sacred and tranquil art space that embodies everything I love about my desert home”
